The Clash

I love playing dress ups in my wardrobe & trying on different combinations that I hadn't thought of before. When I bought this cardigan last year I wondered what I would wear it with. I tried it with this zip up bubble dress & didn't mind the result even if it's a lot of print. The Captain thought the scarf as a tie was a step too far, but I stood firm on my accessorizing conviction. Unlike the so called style gurus who say you should take one thing off before you leave the house, the whole less is more mantra I suppose, I tend to add one more thing instead. More is more, especially when it's matchy matchy!

  2. I think the scarf looks great! Glad you stood your ground haha!

  3. I'm with you on the scarf! :o)

I just love your matching rings! And sailboat pin!!!! That cardigan looks just amazing on you. All on it's own it just doesn't have the "Wow Factor" that you gave it all put together in such a smart outfit!

  4. Yes, a lot of prints going on - but such fabulous eye-popping prints, why wouldn't you wear them together?! The dress and cardi are great, and I love the scarf too. You look long and lean and funky, Leisa! xxx

  5. Orange and green together is a favourite combination and this outfit looks incredible on you. I like the added scarf. The sweater makes me googly-eyed in the best possible way. I don't know if I've heard that take-one-off thing before. So what if all I'm wearing is a maxi dress? Wouldn't want to scare the locals any more than I already do!

  6. Yes, yes, yes love it, how could I not? You've teamed green and orange together a fav combo I adore and smashed it together in a glorious pattern clash. Don't you love our husband suggestions and opinions of what's too far. I copped a don't walk anywhere near me the other day, when I popped in my "ugly knit poodle jumper" he hadn't seen it before and he shuddered. Anyways you're looking most splendid indeed and always love matchy matchy. X

  7. I'm glad you followed your instinct and kept the scarf on, its a fabulous addtion to a great outfit! the cardi is smashing and I love the boat brooch! x

  8. I agree with all the comments - the scarf is a great accompaniment and I am glad you stood your ground. The "take one thing off" mantra is all part of the Chanel way of thinking which is fine if you want to look like Chanel, but I know you, and you want to look like Vintage Bird Girl. I am in love with the bubble pattern on the dress. Is that a zip? All my frocks are buttoned except for one or two. The cardigan is outrageous but like you I see its potential. Hope you have a great weekend xxxxxxx

  9. I've never been into orange much but just recently I've been liking it. I wore my floral orange dress to dinner last night and found a hounds tooth-print flannelette shirt at the oppie yesterday in shades of orange and brown.
Trudie's poodle jumper sounds amazing. I hope she shares a snap.

  10. Love that olive green with the boots combo. Oh how I love boots and dresses :-) once again an incredible outfit, I don't know how you do it, love seeing what you come up with next.

  11. Great combo! Way to mix it up! Love the photos by they way. New camera?

  12. I love how you mix things up, you have a great eye for it!

  13. Clash for you, gorgeous for me!! Much love xoxo

  14. Love love LOVE this! Sheer perfection; you were quite right to keep the scarf!
Adoring the brown touches. Green and brown is really rocking my world lately!

  15. Oh I LOVE that cardi! Also glad you stuck to your guns - that scarf is just perfect xoxo

I'd love to hear from you!
