The Captain had a rare weekend off, which meant I was made it to the monthly Vintage & Designer Markets at West End. There were around 10 stalls with mostly clothing & accessories. I came away empty handed....I tend not to buy at markets because I'm such a cheapskate.
This dress was once a gigantic maxi. Very long, dragging on the floor, with long sleeves. Being a couple of sizes too big it looked huge with all that fabric. At first I brought the hem up, which made it more wearable, but it still felt like a lot of frock with the sleeves. Add to that the fact I overheat so easily. So I decided to cut the sleeves, & I'm so pleased I did, as I think I'll wear it regularly now. I'm always rather nervous about cutting up a vintage frock and changing the original style, but rarely have I regretted doing so.
