I have often lamented the fact that kitsch deers are hard to find around here. You see them in the antique stores, but I'm too much of a cheapskate to pay 40 bucks for a figurine.
So I was delighted when I found this kitsch beauty at Endos....
I'm using the deer vase as a bracelet holder. Most things have a useful purpose in my house.
And a wee deer cross-stitch. I found a frame that fits at another op shop.
I also scored these 3 handmade needlework doilies, or a 'duchess set' for $1.

I am so jealous of those deer doilies!

ReplyDeleteI'm always looking longingly at deer figurines at the antique stores, wondering why I never see those beauts at the oppies. Well done on this find, it's a good one, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteOoh they are all lovely! I especially love the vase. I am a total tight arse too, love! Sarah xxx
ReplyDeleteLucky you - deer are becoming so difficult to find at good prices. I'm going to be singing that song all day now!!!!

ReplyDeleteAW! the deer needlepoint is so cute!
ReplyDeleteDo they really sell for that much? Wow! I have matching deer vases, I use them as bookends, will have to take pics for the blog. Your cute little vase is adorable and so is the Bambi cross stitch. Xxxxx
ReplyDeleteThose deer doilies are great. Everything to do with deer seems to be very popular at the moment so maybe that's why they are usually so expensive in antique shops.
ReplyDeleteLovely buys that little vase is so sweet, dee xx
ReplyDeleteI lurve the cross stitch deer! Too cute!!
ReplyDeleteI'm too cheap to shell out $40 on a figurine too. That's why I cherish my $1 or under buys from my Salvation Army. *heheh*
ReplyDeleteLove all your deers!
And the blue moose too.
YOu never have to pay $40 because you always find amazing stuff cheaply... these deer are wonderful! xxx
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the deer cross-stitch!! The green back ground is so "you"!!!! I agree, why would anyone pay $40 when with experience and patience you can find treasure for less than a tenth of that price. This post reminds me of our lovely meet up at Modaks and all the kitsch deer and squirrels and things. xx
