Painted Frock Friday

I bought this frock at the last clothing sale at the Woolloongabba Antique Center. It's been hand painted & has no tags on it so I'm not sure if it's been handmade. It's a very light mint green colour. It cost me $5 & I have never worn it as I felt I looked like a missionary in it (not that there's anything wrong with looking like a missionary!). It reminds me of a particular older lady from my church named Judy, I have a few frocks named after her. I think it works better with a cardigan & boots. Mr P didn't think much of it hanging on the rack, but he thinks it looks much better on. I do like the sweet covered buttons that run down the bust.

  3. Lovely frock - you look gorgeous! I prefer it without the card - it's a little less missionary... not, as you say, that there is anything wrong with being a missionary! Have a lovely weekend, Sarah xxx

  14. I think the belt makes this dress work a treat. I'd love to see it with peep toe wedges and a cropped cardi too- it screams 1950s to me with those collars. Either way, a great find! Well spotted. xXx

I have a ditsy floral frock which OH refers to as my church picnic look - I'll have to post it on the blog to compare with your missionary version! xxxx
