This Weeks Thrifted Finds

Miss J & I went out on an op shop trawl this week. It felt so good to be back in the swing of things & to check out the new stock that has emerged since I was away. It was a fun day but oh so hot here this week....around 33 degrees. I am longing for the cooler months to arrive so that I can wear vintage without expiring.

Miss J & I pondered over this vintage lounge set for AGES. We were both interested in it. Miss J has a thing for old chairs, & I loved the colour of the vinyl which was in really good condition. The main problem was that when we sat in the chairs, we kind of kept sinking because the springs & webbing inside had deteriorated. I figured they would need renovating which could be pretty pricey. My other problem is the lack of space in my house, as it would have meant replacing my current sofa with this & I wasn't sure it would be all that comfortable. So we reluctantly left the lounge set behind. I thought they were an amazing buy at $50, so I hope it won't haunt me forever as an op shop regret!

I'm linking up with Her Library Adventures flea market finds, so check out her beautiful blog.

I found this little Kodak Instamatic camera from 1972....I love how basic it looks.

A blue ice bucket from Endos for $1.

And I was happy to find some more birdy glasses which match the ones I found here

I seem to have a thing for trinket boxes.....I found this little gold tapestry trinket box for $2. It sits up on 3 little legs.

  7. Oh those blue chairs are totally fabulous but I think Kitty's right - they would be super expensive to repair. And that gorgeous ice bucket is LOVELY (I adore that colour). Sarah xxx

  14. Good call on not getting those chairs. All your other finds were very satisfying esp that ice bucket. The chairs would've set you back money wise and time wise. I can completely understand that feeling of "should I have bought that?"
